LV 3 BTEC EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN MEDIA MAKE-UP
Course Overview
Get an insight into the workings of a make-up artist in a media production team on this two year course. You will gain a nationally recognised qualification that will support your progression to university or into the media make up industry. 
Course Content

This course is designed to give students a nationally recognised qualification in Media Make-up, providing the knowledge, skills and understanding required to gain employment within the industry.

It provides the learner with an insight into working within the media industry as a make-up artist as part of a production team.

Attendance of 100% is necessary in order to complete the course.

To enhance employment opportunities the course may also have additional qualifications built into the programme.
English and Maths
If you are aged under 19 and if you do not hold a GCSE grade C or higher in English and Maths, you will be required to work towards these qualifications.
Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English, Maths and preferably Art
Assessment
The course is continuously assessed by practical and written assignments and tests to demonstrate competence.
Activities
This course offers appropriate work experience to complement the knowledge and skills you will learn at College.  Our Hair and Beauty Show each year is a fantastic opportunity for students to demonstrate their growing skills.
What does this course lead to?
This course is a recognised route into higher education, employment or an apprenticeship.
Equipment Required
There is an estimated cost of £400 to purchase a kit of make-up products and brushes and necessary workwear.
Additional Costs
Each student is responsible for purchasing general stationery items as well as memory card for use in a camera and a suitable display for portfolio photographs.
Financial Information
If you are aged 16-18, tuition and registration fees are free.
If you are aged 19 or over, tuition and registration fees are payable at the start of each year of study; please ask for details.
If you are aged 24 or over, you may be eligible for a Student Loan to assist with your fees; please ask for details.
Staged Payment
A staged payment plan is available to help with course fees.
Reduced Fees
Fee concessions may be available if you are out of work, on low income or studying for your first Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.
Bursaries
If you are unable to pay any of the course costs, or need financial assistance you may be eligible to receive a college bursary.

Travel Subsidy
BCoT offers discount on travel to and from the college for full time students. We offer 50% discount on rail fares and if you are travelling by bus, we offer 25% off Zone 2 buses outside of Basingstoke. There is financial assistance available for those families on a low income.
