Level 2 Intermediate Interior Systems
LV 2 CSKILLS DIPLOMA INTERIOR SYSTEMS
Course Content

The course covers a wide range of subjects including:

  • Knowledge of information, quantities and communicating with others
  • Knowledge of building methods and construction technology
  • How to finish dry lining joints
  • How to install dry lining and encasements
  • How to install dry lining partition systems
  • How to install proprietary partition systems
  • How to install raised access flooring systems
  • How to install suspended ceiling systems

 

Attendance of 100% is necessary in order to complete the course.

Students may also choose to study for a GCSE to increase their qualifications, or to resit a previous GCSE subject to improve a grade. To enhance employment opportunities the course may also have additional qualifications built into the programme.

English and Maths
If you are aged under 19 and if you do not hold a GCSE grade C or higher in English and Maths, you will be required to work towards these qualifications.
Entry Requirements

Completion of CSkills Level 1 Diploma in Interiors and Plaster Finishes with Functional Skills and a strong recommendation by the course tutor.

Assessment

The course is continuously assessed through written and practical assignments/tests.

Activities

This course offers appropriate work experience to complement the knowledge and skills you will learn at College.

What does this course lead to?

This course is a recognised route into a Level 3 course or employment, including an Apprenticeship.

Equipment Required

Students will need to purchase personal protective equipment (boots, goggles/specs, gloves etc) which are essential for the course.  These can be purchased directly from an approved college supplier.  Order forms will be provided during the enrolment period; the approximate cost is £60.

Additional Costs

Each student is responsible for purchasing general stationery items.

Financial Information
If you are aged 16-18, tuition and registration fees are free.
If you are aged 19 or over, tuition and registration fees are payable at the start of each year of study; please ask for details.
If you are aged 24 or over, you may be eligible for a Student Loan to assist with your fees; please ask for details.
Staged Payment
A staged payment plan is available to help with course fees.
Reduced Fees
Fee concessions may be available if you are out of work, on low income or studying for your first Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.
Bursaries
If you are unable to pay any of the course costs, or need financial assistance you may be eligible to receive a college bursary.

Travel Subsidy
BCoT offers discount on travel to and from the college for full time students. We offer 50% discount on rail fares and if you are travelling by bus, we offer 25% off Zone 2 buses outside of Basingstoke. There is financial assistance available for those families on a low income.
